PHFS: Portland Homeless Family SolutionsWe help families move quickly back into permanent housing, usually within a couple of months of meeting them. Most families move into market rate apartments. PHFS helps families pay security deposits and up to 12 months of rent assistance to help families settle into their new homes.

The Road HomeOur main objective is in the creation of a housing plan, housing location assistance, employment and benefit assistance through Department of Workforce Services and housing placement case management supports. Families that are unable to resolve their homelessness without financial support may be prioritized for Rapid Re-housing (RRH) financial assistance.

We operate two shelters, comprised of 410 beds. Our work begins through the basic needs of shelter, meals, showers, laundry services, hygiene items, and supportive staff. Embedded in one of our two shelters is a Wellness Wing comprised of organizational partnerships to provide substance use, mental illness, and physical healthcare services.
