OUR GOAL
The goal of transitioning people from homelessness into temporary or permanent housing is a challenging but necessary endeavor. Creating systems that work and are efficient in doing so is paramount to achieving this goal. According to the National Alliance to End Homelessness over half a million people experience homelessness in 2019. We aim to shed some light on the work being done by our community partner Transition Projects and other organizations throughout the U.S and abroad.
The fundamental guiding beliefs of Transition Projects are that housing and food are human rights, people are the experts in their own lives and can determine their own needs, and that we must end homelessness by addressing the social ills that create it. Over the course of 50 years, Transition Projects helped countless Portlanders gain the tools that they need to get off the streets and lead their life as they want to. In addition to this website, we have also created and maintained a regular blog that highlights stories and issues that affect our local and global communities |
